COVEDUCK: Joseph
Henry, 1885 - 1964
COVEYDUCK,
Joseph:born September 10, 1885. Many tributes from all walks of
life were paid to the late Wor. Bro. Joseph Coveduck of Verdun,
Que., who died in the Queen Mary Veterans' Hospital on November
2nd. 1964 The funeral services took place in St. Clement's
Anglican Church, Verdun, November 5th with Rev. E. G.
Kettleborough officiating, assisted by the Rev. E. M. Dann. The
late Wor. Bro. Coved uck was born in Seat Cove, Newfoundland, and
was a well known and longtirne resident of Verdun, Quebec. living
there since his marriage to Sarah Jane Regular in 1910. He served
in the Royal Navy and later in the famed 42nd Battalion, Royal
Highlanders Regiment of Canada (Black Watch) in World War I
(1914-1918). Bro. Coveduck was a strong, and active member of the
Loyal Orange Association, for 61 years, joining the Association in
Newfoundland at the age of 18. He was twice Master of Boyne L.O.L
No. 401 in Verdun and held the office of Treasurer at the time of
his death, The County Lodge of Montreal paid tribute with a large
turn-out of members at an impressive service at the J. F, Wilson
Funeral Home, He is survived by his wife R.W. Sister Sarah
(Jennie) Coveduck, and five sons, William, lrwin, Joseph Jr.,
Clarence and Earl, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. |
